Prom 2014

I had so much fun at Prom on Saturday! :) We played games and had a water fight for the day date, then we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Really good! The dance was a lot of fun and I had such a wonderful date. Definitely one of the funnest dances I've been to and one of the top dates.

Pantomime

This is my Region and State piece from this year. This was during my third round in State. I had NEVER done pantomime in my life...it definitely wasn't a first choice thing. It was difficult and I'll admit, I'm not great at actually pantomiming, but I loved the experience and this pantomime means a lot to me. It was originally a duet up until State competition. A couple days before I found out that my partner would not be able to compete, so I had to change it to a solo. It wasn't as good pantomime wise, but it meant a lot more to me. Hope you like it! :)

In my drama class, we were assigned to do a theater art piece. We were allowed to perform the scene anywhere we wanted and it had to have a special sort of in-your-face message. This is what my group did...

A Small Moment in Eternity (Easter)

A friend and I were talking about the gospel yesterday and I realized something while we were talking. We talked about some things that are sometimes hard to grasp about the gospel. They are also sometimes overwhelming to think about, but while we were talking, it hit me. The gospel just makes sense. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the completely true church and it's easy and it is simple. These are my own beliefs, but I don't understand how people won't accept the gospel as being true. It is so simple! And it is so great and amazing. So many religions think that we just appeared, that there was a "big boom" and we just all showed up here and that when we die it is the end. It just doesn't make sense. Why would someone want to live in fear of an ending? How could something so great just appear out of nothing? We came here from the kingdom of our Father in Heaven where our spirits were united with bodies, so that we could return to God and be perfect as he is and as Christ is. We were created in his own image. We are here to be tried and tested just like our Father was. This is our time and it such a small moment in eternity. There is life after death. We live in a telestial world, but it is our responsibility to act in celestial ways. Christ suffered the ultimate sacrifice for us and I can't imagine that He really wanted to go through that pain, but He loved us enough to do it. He not only suffered for our sins, but for our sorrows and has total empathy. After three days, He broke the bands of death and rose from His tomb to be the perfect example of how to be perfect, of how to be complete. I cannot go through life and not acknowledge Him as my Savior, my Redeemer, and my brother. I love Him and I thank Him for His sacrifice and for saving me and for saving you and for saving the world. Take the time this Easter to reflect on Him. Reflect on His Atonement, His crucifixion, and His resurrection. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Christian. I will not deny my God or my Savior. This is not the end. This life is just a small moment in eternity.

Come Unto Christ

This video will immediately bring the Spirit. I watched it tonight at my Young Women's New Beginnings. It is an incredible song and video and I felt the spirit so strongly. It answered questions in my heart that I didn't even realize that I had. Watch it, please. Our theme this year is "Come Unto Christ". What an incredible statement. I could go on forever about what this theme means to me. This has been an eventful year and it's had its ups and downs, but not once did I say that my life was unhappy, because I was always striving to follow Christ. There have been so many questions that I have asked the last couple of months, trying to find out which paths to take. This video answered so many of those questions instantly. Roses Have Thorns

I haven't really written anything in awhile and I felt like just writing down words. So, this poem doesn't really have a meaning, but I like having fun with creative sentences.

Roses have thorns to prick the blind and scratch the weak

To cut those who play around with beautiful things

Roses have thorns to poison the unsuspecting traveler

Who takes the path that no one dares to journey

Beautiful things have their traps and lies and hidden truths

Disguised, masked with vibrant colors and smooth array

They drench themselves in thick, deceitful paint

Fictional words leak out of the shadows of their pedals

Guile and fable tales blanket their stem and roots

That will deeply lock even the most alert mortal creature
